Skywatch - Churches on the highway




As you drive down the highway in Kerala, one sees many monuments  and I was particularly fascinated by the different churches..

You find the architecture a bit different from the usual churches that we see in different cities and they also represent various sects - from Latin Catholics, Roman Catholics, Syrian Christians, Jacobites, Protestants and more..

amazing! i love the subject of ur post, even i have thought of doing something similar. pick up an object (church in this case) and follow its journey/ evolution with space and time...

Your blog's quite fascinating. I like this post because churches in India are an interesting study, how they've managed to amalgamate regional architectural forms with traditional western concepts. Enjoyed looking at the pictures.

Yes as you say the architecture is different. Instead of looking alien, now they prefer to adopt the local style with some improvisation. Nice pictures.

Architects of these churches are really GREAT...I salute their skills...All pics are good but i like the very 1st one...
