Music at midnight in the Thar Desert

Imagine its midnight. The moon is shining right behind the sand dunes. The stars look down. You see the vast expanse of sands surrounding you. Sitting at a lower level, I see the dunes forming a horizon . Atop the dunes, lit by lanterns are silhouettes of singers singing an ode to the desert. Listen to their deep throated voices. The singer is Mehboob Khan, a renowned folk artist from Rajasthan who has travelled the world performing in front of an international audience. And here he is, courtesy Suryagarh , Jaisalmer, singing to us – a group of five people in the desert . You can listen to him here.
